Unit 1: Paragraphs
Lesson 1 - Paragraph Features
People in Canada are nice to each other. One time, a stranger just gave me some money to take the bus when I only asked for change. It was nice of her. I will always remember this.
China also has people that are nice. I sometimes say something wrong in Chinese. When that happens, strangers usually don't laugh at me. Most of the time, they teach me to say it the right way. I like that. |
- Indent is a space about thumb wide at the beginning of a paragraph. This is how people can tell one paragraph from another.
- 3 or more sentences - Sentences start with a capital letter and ends with a period. DO NOT WRITE ONE SENTENCE PER LINE. Fit as many words as you can on one line, then move on to the next line. - Talks about only one topic - You need to start another paragraph when you start talking about another topic |
Lesson 2 - Paragraph Format
Saturday was a lucky day for me. I was walking on the street and a car came barreling down at me. I thought I was gone for sure but it swerved right on time and stopped. A man came out and was very sorry. He gave me 100 dollars to see the doctor. However, I was not hurt and I gave the money back. He still felt awful and decided to give me tickets to a baseball game. I was so happy.
